With half-term week upon us, the Costa del Sol has come out top of a recent survey of shorthaul and long haul destinations according to Post Office Travel Money.
The report, which was based on a typical holiday “shopping basket”, found that visitors to the Costa del Sol would spend only £44.03 a day. This included a selection of 8 items such as coffee, beer, wine & sun cream as well as three-course evening meal including a bottle of wine. The Costa del Sol came out on top followed by Bali, Portugal’s Algarve, Sri Lanka, and Tenerife. The report also included that most locations on the Costa del Sol are cheaper than they were last year due to a strong pound and of course many business cutting prices to remain competitive, Not only is this great news for those looking for some winter sun, it’s also welcome news to property owners who not only get to enjoy the sunshine but will also benefit from a welcome boost to rental revenues. After a fantastic October, that saw the hottest late October day ever recorded with temperatures on the 22nd of October reaching 35º at Málaga International Airport. It’s clear that the Costa del Sol’s tourism industry is firmly back on its feet and provides further incentive for those looking to invest in property in popular resorts such as Marbella.
