Enrique Iglesius at the Starlite Festival 2013 in Marbella, Spain

Thirty years ago, three visionaries got together to make Marbella's La Cantera an unrivalled national auditorium and they decided to create a music festival destined to become an international standard-bearer. Those visionaries were Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe, Julio Iglesias and Plácido Domingo, who presented their project at a concert by the tenor in 1983. Three decades later, Starlite has recovered its founding essence and the soul of a revealing project.
Entrepreneurs Sandra García-Sanjuán and Ignacio Maluquer have made the dream come true, and Marbella's La Cantera is buzzing again.
Starlite entails an investment of 6 million euros and generates 300 direct jobs. The festival's economic impact exceeds 25 million euros.
